Frequently asked questions

How memberships, work units, approvals and files work.

What is a work unit?

A work unit is how BrandCare measures creative effort. Every deliverable in the catalogue has an indicative unit value. Before work starts we confirm the units for your specific brief, and you can see exactly how your balance is calculated in your portal.

When are units taken from my balance?

Units are reserved when the scope of a request is confirmed and recorded as used when production starts. If a request is cancelled before production, the reserved units are returned to you automatically.

What happens to units I don’t use?

That depends on your membership. Some memberships allow a limited number of unused units to roll into the next month; otherwise unused units expire at the end of the period. Your membership page shows the rule that applies to you.

How do approvals work?

Proofs are uploaded to your portal. An authorised person at your business approves the proof or requests changes in one consolidated round. Final files are only released after an approval has been recorded, with the name of the person who approved it and when.

Is printing or filming included?

BrandCare covers creative and production work — artwork, editing and coordination. Physical printing, installation, photography sessions, filming, travel, talent and stock licensing are scoped and quoted separately unless your agreement says otherwise.

Can more than one person at my business use the portal?

Yes. The account owner can invite colleagues and decide who may approve artwork and who may see billing.

Where are my files kept?

Your brand assets and final deliverables are stored privately and can only be downloaded by authorised people at your business and the Soweto Graphics team.

How do I change or cancel my membership?

Send a change or cancellation request from the Membership page in your portal. Your account manager confirms the next steps in line with your service agreement; nothing changes until it has been confirmed.
